Nine crew members from China were taken into custody for illegal fishing in waters near Yeonpyeong Island.

Coast guard officers were given an official citation for their work. They had driven away illegal Chinese crab boats nearby.

On a separate matter, a prawn fisher from West Vancouver was fined $5,000. The fine was imposed because he dropped traps near glass sponge reefs.

Authorities say there will be no fishing for coho salmon in Lake Washington. The closure covers anglers in that lake.

The Wuchang fish industry is expanding its reach too.
